All my memories of Patrick are filled with his warm, eyes-full-of-joy smile. Even when he wasn't smiling, there was joy in the room when he was in it. I'll never forget that smile along with his pure joy of scientific discovery. I remember the time he saved the day by flying to Amsterdam to teach our lab colleagues there how to collect and process precious samples. Those samples led to some major discoveries. I'll also never forget how excited he was to share with me his meta-analysis of all published data on NfL. One of the last times we spoke on zoom, he couldn't wait to tell me that he's passing the time at the hospital by learning to program in R. You made so much impact, Patrick, and did it with such humility. You made work so much fun and for this I'm so grateful. To your family and friends -- thank you for taking such good care of Patrick and for creating this page so we can share our stories. He made this world so much better and will not be forgotten.
